Album

Album

Album keeps the visual side of what you played. Each album is a named collection of captured scenes — screenshot, original text, translation — that you can browse, edit, and revisit. Useful for memorable lines, hard-to-translate UI, or a visual journal of your playthrough.

Keep scenes at the end of a session, then replay them one by one

Creating albums

You don’t have to do anything to start one. When a session ends, Session Review shows Tonight’s Album: every scene Playto kept from the session, all checked. Uncheck the scenes you don’t want and press Done; the rest become the album. Each scene is the screenshot, the original line and its translation.

You can also make an album from a past session in the History tab, and rename any album from its detail view. Albums live in Learn › Album.

Browsing scenes

Open an album to see every captured scene with its screenshot. Each scene shows:

  • The original captured image at the time of the line.
  • The OCR / model-read text below the image.
  • The translation Playto produced.

If a scene's line was saved as a sentence, a View in Sentences link appears so you can jump to its detail view.

Replay — review with the scene

Replay turns an album into a memory test. It plays the scenes back one at a time with the translation hidden — you see the original line in its screenshot and recall what it meant, then Reveal to check.

After revealing, grade your recall:

  • Got it — remembered the meaning.
  • Partial — got the gist, missed details.
  • Missed — didn't recall it.
  • Skip — pass without grading.

Because the prompt is the actual scene you played — not a line on a blank card — the picture comes back with the words and recall is easier. A fuller walkthrough is in reviewing a line in the scene you first saw it.

Replay one album, or pick All Albums to mix scenes from every album.

Export to Anki

Open an album and use Export to Anki (.apkg) to build a deck with the screenshots included, for your own study. For a plain word list, the “…” menu in Words exports a TSV file that Anki can import.

Why the scene belongs on the card, and how this compares with building cards by hand: Anki cards from video games, with the screenshot on every card.

Editing & cleanup

You can polish each scene without affecting the live Log:

  • Edit text — fix the original (OCR mistakes) or refine the translation.
  • Delete scene — drop scenes that didn't turn out interesting.
  • Delete album — remove the whole collection from the detail view.

The screenshots themselves live on disk; deleting frees that space.

Limits

The free edition caps stored albums at 5; paid editions have no cap. When the cap is reached, you'll be prompted to delete an older album before creating a new one.

Screenshots are only saved when Album screenshots is on in Settings › Learning (default on).
